Speaker’s brief bio:
DECODING THE UNDERLYING PRINCIPLES OF TISSUE IMMUNE NETWORKS
Dr. Reina-Campos is an Assistant Professor at La Jolla Institute for Immunology, where
he leads the Laboratory of Tissue Immune Networks. The Reina laboratory seeks to
understand and leverage the underlying functional design of CD8 T cell tissue immunity
that enables robust and long-term protection against infections and tumors. The
laboratory utilizes a combination of in vivo functional genetics, metabolomics, and stateof-
the-art spatial transcriptomics on clinically relevant models of infection and cancer and
human samples to probe the intrinsic adaptations of tissue-resident memory CD8 T cells
and their connectome across multiple tissue ecosystems.
Dr. Reina-Campos, a Biochemist specializing in Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology, and
Metabolism, obtained a B.Sc. from the Universitat de Barcelona, a M.Sc. from the
Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Scripps Research Institute, a Ph.D. in Biomedical
Research at Sanford Burnham Prebys, and completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in the
laboratory of Dr. Goldrath at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Reina-Campos is
a La Caixa Fellow, which is awarded by the King of Spain, and a Cancer Research Institute
Fellow. Dr. Reina-Campos is the co-founder and board member of TCura Bioscience Inc.
